  • A New Contract For Northern Interior Canfor Workers
    Twenty -five hundred Canfor employees across the Northern Interior have a new four-year contract.Members of the Steelworkers Union ratified the deal yesterday, though President of Local, 1-424 Frank Everitt says it wasn't an overwhelming vote. Everitt says negotiators are now heading to the Southern Interior for more talks.

  • Air Meeting Set for Tonight
    The gym at Sacred Heart school could be filled tonight with residents anxious to learn more about the formaldehyde situations.  It's only recently become apparent that testing found high levels of formaldehyde in the airshed.  PACHA organized the meeting.  President Dave Fuller is hoping to learn more about formaldehyde and its potential effects.  Environment Ministry officials are expected to attend.  The meeting starts at 7 at Sacred Heart School.

  • Eldery Man Dies After Parking Lot Accident
    An elderly man who was struck by a truck in the parking lot of Superstore last week has died.
        73-year-old Gordon Matzolic was struck in the store's parking lot on the morning of March 3rd and was taken to Prince George Regional Hospital.
        But succumbed to his injuries two days later.
        Charges are not being contemplated against the driver of the pick up.
