Healthy Kids Day is a nationally recognized YMCA event that takes place at 1,700 locations across North America.  This free one-day event will be alive with families celebrating health, safety and wellness.  The goal is to inspire children to make healthy choices in all aspects of their lives through fun and educational activities.

Family YMCA Healthy Kids Marathon: YMCA Healthy Kids Marathon encourages youth to get out and get active.  Elementary school aged children participate in this month-long marathon that encourages children to run a portion of the full 42.2km run each day of the month.  On YMCA’s Healthy Kids Day participants will run the final 1.2km with their friends and families to celebrate their accomplishments.

Annual Family YMCA Road Race: The Family YMCA Road Race is an officially sanctioned event under BC Athletics.  The race features three distances: Half – marathon, 10km Run, 5km Healthy Families walk/run.  This year two challenges have been added.  Corporate Challenge: Let’s see who has the most active staff in Prince George.  Local business can challenge their peers to participate in the 10km run.  School Challenge: Local area high schools can challenge one another and see who can get the most participants out from each school and earn the title of most active high school in the district.
