Entertainment News This Morning: (Weekdays at 10:20am)

James Bond has a license to kill -- the competition. “Quantum of Solace” opens at number one with more than $70 million this weekend. “Madagascar 2” drops to second this weekend, followed by “Role Models” and “High School Musical 3.” Overall it was a great weekend for Hollywood -- up 54 per cent from the same weekend a year ago.

It's going to happen. Maybe it already has. As of the end of last week, Batman - The Dark Knight's worldwide haul stood at a reported $997.6 million. Box-office experts said $1 billion, a mountain of money amassed by only three other movies in Hollywood history, is perhaps two weeks away.

Julianna Margulies has turned down an invitation by the producers of ``ER'' for a return appearance. She says she feels like she “left Carol Hathaway in the best scenario possible.” Margulies left “ER” in 2000 after six seasons. The storyline had her character leaving Chicago's County General for Seattle and settling down with George Clooney's character, Dr. Ross.

Charlize Theron is going to work for the United Nations. The Oscar winner was designated a U.N. messenger of peace and, in her downtime as a jet-setting superstar, will travel the world to focus on her pet cause, ending violence against women. Theron is the 10th celebrity named to the position.

The Drive Nooner - Random Rock News: (Weekdays at 12:10pm)

Paul McCartney says it's time an experimental Beatles track saw the light of day. McCartney says he wants to release "Carnival of Light," a 14-minute experimental track the Fab Four recorded in 1967 but never released. The band played the recording for an audience just once, at an electronic music festival in London. McCartney is looking for approval from Ringo Starr and the estates of John Lennon and George Harrison to release the track. There's no time frame for the song’s release or word on whether it would be included on a compilation or exist as a stand-alone song.

Rod Stewart performed at Prince Charles' private 60th birthday over the weekend. Stewart is a longtime friend of Charles and his wife Camilla, and Roddy's also an ambassador for the Prince's Trust. It's worth noting that the notoriously penny pinching Stewart's fee for a private show typically runs more than $1.7 million, but he did this one for free.

Ex-Guns N' Roses drummer Steven Adler pleaded no contest on Friday to a heroin possession charge in the hopes of avoiding jail time by entering a treatment program. Adler, who was fired from GN’R over drug problems in 1990, hopes to reunite with his old bandmates for a comeback album and a world tour. That might just be the smack talking. Adler appeared this year on the reality television show Celebrity Rehab With Dr. Drew during an earlier attempt to get off drugs.

Classic Rock Song Facts: (Weekdays at 1:20pm)

This was the biggest hit of 1983. It was #1 for 8 weeks.

This is one of the most misinterpreted songs ever. It is about an obsessive stalker, but it sounds like a love song. Some people even used it as their wedding song. Sting wrote it after separating from his first wife.

Sting wrote this at the same desk in Jamaica where Ian Fleming wrote his James Bond Novels and knew it would be the band's biggest hit when he wrote it.

This won Grammys in 1984 for Song Of The Year and Best Pop Performance By Duo Or Group With Vocal.

At the first MTV Video Music Awards in 1983, this won for Best Cinematography.

Sting performed this on a 2001 episode of Ally McBeal. This appears on the soundtrack of the 1999 Julia Roberts movie Runaway Bride. It was also used in the movie The Replacements.

The Police performed this when they were inducted in the Rock And Roll Hall Of Fame in 2003.

Sting re-wrote the lyrics when he performed this in 2005 at Live 8, a set of concerts organized by Bob Geldof to increase activism and demand more aid for Africa. Sting included the line, "We'll be watching you" to mean the world would be keeping an eye on the politicians making critical decisions on the fate of Africa.

Prince George's Izaak Smith made it to the Top 8 last night on “So You Think You Can Dance Canada.” He's also secured his spot on a Canadian tour early next year.

The Tribal Council says “goodbye Charlie.” The New York lawyer didn't make it once the tribes were merged on “Survivor” last night. It came down to him and Crystal, with just one vote separating them at the Tribal Council. But Charlie is looking on the bright side of being voted off. He says at least now he gets to be with Marcus, who's also on the jury.

Barbara Walters is fascinated by Miley Cyrus. Cyrus is one of Walters' picks for ``The Ten Most Fascinating People of 2008,'' which will air as an A-B-C special Dec. 4. Will Smith, Tom Cruise, Tina Fey, Rush Limbaugh and Michael Phelps will also be on the special. A-B-C is tight lipped on who the Most Fascinating person is ... my bet is Obama.

Last night's “E-R” opened with a tribute to series creator Michael Crichton. He died last week at age 66, after privately battling cancer. Eriq La Salle looked into the camera and said Crichton was a ``true gentleman,'' a brilliant writer and ``unfailingly kind.'' But La Salle says most of all ``Michael was a good friend and we will miss him.'' La Salle played Dr. Peter Benton on ``E-R'' for many years.

Classic Rock Song Facts: (Weekdays at 1:20pm)

This is a tribute to James Honeyman-Scott, the Pretenders guitarist who died of a drug overdose in 1982 at age 26. Scott's death was followed by bass player Pete Farndon's 10 months later. Farndon had been kicked out of the band because of his drug problems and died of an overdose.

The "picture of you" Chrissie Hynde sings about is a picture she found in her wallet of Ray Davies, leader of the band The Kinks. Hynde and Davies were a couple and had a daughter together. This song started off about him, but the meaning changed when Honeyman-Scott died.

This was the first Pretenders single featuring Billy Bremner and Tony Butler, who replaced Farndon and Honeyman-Scott.

This was released as a single almost 2 years before the album came out.

Classic Rock Song Facts: (Weekdays at 1:20pm)

This song epitomizes AC/DC's dangerous and mean sound, with Angus Young's heavy guitar and Bon Scott's leering, vocals that would have scared the living daylights out of any unsuspecting teenage Pop fans when this song first hit the airwaves (they did it on a national TV show in Australia called Countdown, which was usually frequented by acts like ABBA and Bucks Fizz).

This was recorded at Alberts Studios in Sydney, Australia in 1976 soon after the sessions that produced the Australian version of their TNT album.

The ending is one of the most famous screams in Rock history. For those wondering, it's spelled: "Yaaaaaaaaaaarrrrrrrrrggghhhhhh!"

This was used in the Norm MacDonald movie Dirty Work. It is played while Norm's character Mitch and his friend Sam are wrecking a building in an attempt to get it condemned.

On a 2008 episode of The Simpsons where they team up on a stakeout, we learn that Homer Simpson and Ned Flanders have some common ground in their musical tastes. Homer likes AC/DC, and Ned likes their Christian tribute band: AD/BC, and their version of this song, "Kindly Deeds Done For Free."

Viacom paid the pair a bonus of $150 million this year under the agreement and the final payment is expected to exceed this year’s payment.

Batman has another fight on his hands and it's with the mayor a town in Turkey called Batman. “60 Minutes” and “C-S-I” helped C-B-S win the ratings race again last week. It was C-B-S' sixth consecutive victory. Viewers flocked to the “Saturday Night Live Presidential Bash” the night before the U-S election. But, N-B-C had some disappointing news, too. The 19th season premiere of “Law and Order” had just under eight (m) million viewers. Last week's top shows: “60 Minutes,” “C-S-I,” “Sunday Night Football,” “Dancing With the Stars,” and “Desperate Housewives.”

It's down to the final four on ``Dancing with the Stars.'' Last night, Olympic sprinter Maurice Greene got his walking papers. So, that leaves Brooke Burke, Warren Sapp, Cody Linley and Lance Bass in the dance for the mirror ball trophy.

Feminist groups criticized this song for objectifying women, although ZZ Top had been releasing songs with playful, yet sexually-charged lyrics for years. Their first hit was "Tush" in 1975, which was probably more offensive, but the band was less popular then so it drew fewer protests.

The video was very popular featuring a vintage car and Playboy models.

MTV was in its third year and did not have a huge amount of videos when this came out. This became one of their most popular videos and they played it constantly.

This was the first ZZ Top album to use synthesizers. The new sound, along with the exposure on MTV, helped the album sell over 10 million copies.

In 2002, Kid Rock recorded this for the World Wrestling Federation album WWF Forced Entry. It was a tribute to WWF diva Stacy Keibler.

This was Aerosmith's comeback single. After years of drug addiction and poor records, they emerged clean with Permanent Vacation and went on to enormous success.

This was the first of 4 hits from the album. The others were "Angel," "Rag Doll," and "Love In An Elevator."

This was inspired by Vince Neil, lead singer of Motley Crue. Steven Tyler saw Vince in a bar surrounded by a harem of girls and wondered how he picked up so many girls when he looked like one. This is corroborated in the Nikki Sixx book The Heroin Diaries.

Joe Perry and Steven Tyler of Aerosmith wrote this with Desmond Child.

This was used in the 1993 film Mrs. Doubtfire starring Robin Williams.

The wives of both Steven Tyler and Joe Perry appeared in the video along with playboy playmate Brandi Brandt.
