Reunited for the first time in two decades, "a lot of things are starting to boil" for Cheech & Chong. They are getting offers to tour overseas and are looking at the option of Cheech & Chong's first feature film since 1987's "Born in East L.A." Cheech Marin says the only thing that's definite is a DVD from the “Light Up” tour. Mostly, however, he's pleased that after an acrimonious split he and Chong are working together again -- happily.

Also on this date in 1967, the Who's appearance on ``The Smothers Brothers Comedy Hour'' was a little more explosive than expected. Moon was cut by metal bits from his cymbal and Pete Townshend's hair was burned and his hearing damaged.

Here are a couple U2 notes for you. Although U2 have not announced a tour and haven't even finished their new album, VIP tickets and backstage passes for any stop on their as-yet-unannounced U.S. tour are up for auction on eBay. The online auction is a fundraiser for the St. Baldrick's Foundation, which supports children's cancer research. And Metallica drummer Lars Ulrich has revealed that one of his most unfulfilled ambitions is for the band to perform on the same bill as U2. Lars says, “I’ll play at one in the afternoon, in a parking lot in Ireland.”

Classic Rock Song Facts: (Weekdays at 1:20pm)

David Lee Roth has given various accounts of the meaning behind the lyrics, but he usually says they are about a TV news story he saw where a man was about to kill himself by jumping off a building. He's also said the song is about a stripper.

This was Van Halen's first #1 hit, and their only #1 with David Lee Roth as lead singer.

As early as 1981, Eddie Van Halen had written the keyboard part that would eventually become this song. David Lee Roth didn't like the idea of Eddie playing keyboards, and it wasn't until Eddie had built his own recording studio (5150) that he recorded the song with Ted Templeman during a late night recording session. When hearing the song, the band decided to include it on the 1984 album.

The video won Best Stage Performance Video at the first MTV Video Music Awards in 1984. MTV quickly discontinued the category as music videos became more creative and relied less on footage of bands performing the song.

It is ... Jump ... by Van Halen !

Joel Coen has a problem keeping a straight face with some of the movies he directs. He laughed a lot filming ``Burn After Reading,'' but at least none of his laughs ended up on the soundtrack. You can actually hear him laugh in a scene of ``Fargo.'' It's the scene where Steve Buscemi buries some money in the snow. Coen's brother Ethan says they decided to keep in the laughs because they sort of sounded like Buscemi breathing.

Amy Poehler is spreading her small screen wings and flying away. She says she will take a break from "Saturday Night Live" after the November election to give birth to her first child. Amy says, "'SNL' was dangerous, late-night, last-minute and star-studded, but like any good drug, you need to know when to put it down."

Classic Rock Song Facts: (Weekdays at 1:20pm)

Hendrix claimed this was inspired by a dream where he was walking under the sea. It was a traumatic experience, but in his dream his faith in Jesus saved him.

Hendrix claimed this had nothing to do with drugs, but it's hard to believe they weren't an influence. The lyrics seem to vividly portray an acid trip, and Hendrix was doing plenty of drugs at the time.

Jimi and producer Chas Chandler used some unusual studio tricks to get the unique sound. To create the background track that sounds distant, they put a pair of headphones around a microphone and recorded it that way to get an echo effect.

Hendrix wrote the lyrics on the day after Christmas in 1966. He wrote a lot more than what made it to the song.

This contains one of the most misheard lyrics ever, with "Scuse me while I kiss the sky" interpreted as "Scuse me while I kiss this guy." Hendrix added to the confusion by sometimes singing it that way and pointing to one of his band members.

A month before Hendrix died, he opened a recording studio in Greenwich Village called Electric Lady. One of the studios is known as "Purple Haze" and contains a purple mixing board.

It is ... Purple Haze ... by Hendrix!

Classic Rock Song Facts: (Weekdays at 1:20pm)

This song is about Los Angeles. It exposes the dark side of the city many people encounter when they go there to pursue fame.

Axl Rose wrote the lyrics when he was in Seattle, which gave him some perspective on the size of Los Angeles.

When this was released as a single in 1987, it charted in England but flopped in America. It finally became a hit in the US when they re-released it in October 1988 after "Sweet Child O' Mine" hit #1.

This was used in the 1988 Clint Eastwood movie The Dead Pool. The band made a cameo in the film.

Numerous college and pro sports teams use this to intimidate their opponents at home games. The Cincinnati Bengals of the NFL were probably the first.

Slash re-recorded his guitar parts as he was dissatisfied with his first attempts. To produce the vicious yet pure tone, the Guns 'N' Roses gunslinger used a Les Paul '59 replica plugged into a Marshall JCM aided most probably by some Jack Daniels.

At the 1988 MTV Video Music Awards, this won for Best New Artist Video. Guns N' Roses performed it on the show.
