Classic Rock Song Facts: (Weekdays at 1:20pm)

This is Frampton's biggest hit. It took off when he included the song on his 1976 album Frampton Comes Alive, recorded at Winterland in San Francisco. Frampton Comes Alive is the best selling live album of all time. The studio version was released as a single in 1975, but went nowhere.

On the intro to the live version, Frampton used a talkbox, a device hooked up to his guitar that allowed him to create amplified, distorted vocal sounds with his mouth. The talkbox effect was a huge hit. Many musicians responded by buying one or trying to make their own. More than a few young people lost some cavities when they created faulty talkboxes and sent electric current into their mouths.

This was one of the first songs U2 performed as a group. They played it at their high school talent show using the band name Feedback.

It is ... Show Me The Way ... by Peter Frampton.

An appropriate film to star in with twins due any day -- Angelina Jolie says it was fun voicing the film ``Kung Fu Panda.''

``Kung Fu Panda'' has opened at number one, taking in about 60 million dollars over the weekend. Another comedy opens in second. Adam Sandler stars as a commando-hairdresser in ``You Don't Mess With the Zohan.'' Last weekend's leader, ``Sex and the City,'' slips to fourth, behind ``Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull.''

Following 20 years of bing drinking and pot smoking, Ben Jones was lying on the floor ``literally dying'' when he decided to pray for help. He then went on to quit cold turkey. A year later, he was cast as Cooter in ``The Dukes of Hazzard'' and after the show ended, he was elected to Congress. That's why he says his book “Redneck Boy in the Promised Land'' is not a story about falling down, it's a story about getting up.

The actress who played Wonder Woman on T-V says she didn't do anything extraordinary when she discovered a body on the Potomac River in Washington. Lynda Carter was alone in a boat when she saw the body. She didn't have a cellphone with her, so she yelled to some fishermen and asked them to call police. Carter waited until rescuers arrived and showed them where the body was.

Classic Rock Song Facts: (Weekdays at 1:20pm)

This was the second Top 100 song from the first Journey album featuring their new lead singer Steve Perry.

The song was already written when Perry joined the band. Bass player Ross Valory's wife at the time had contributed lyrics, and the band's former singer Rob Fleishman also co-wrote it, but Perry put his own signature to it.

This song, along with "Lights" which Perry did co-write, finally put Journey on the radio and on their way to Stadium Rock stardom in the '80s.

It is ... Wheel In The Sky ... by Journey.

Filming hasn't even started and there already are snags with the next season of ``Survivor,'' which is set in the West African country of Gabon. Jeff Probst says stuff they needed to have shipped is way behind schedule. That means the crew has to stay in tents instead of real buildings. A crane toppled over and a container with about 100-thousand dollars' worth of food disappeared. Then, there's the wildlife. The other night Probst said he got a call that there were hippo tracks at base camp. He says they don't want the animals around for a safety reasons, but they'd love to have a hippo sneak in every so often. ``Survivor: Gabon -- Earth's Last Eden'' is supposed to start filming in a few weeks and wrap up in August. It'll premiere in September.

Van Halen say the group's recently-wrapped tour is the most lucrative of their career. The tour wasn't without its difficulties and setbacks. While the trek was originally planned for the summer of 2007, that March, Eddie Van Halen entered rehab, forcing a postponement until the fall. In addition, the band took that unanticipated break earlier this year so Eddie could address a health issue. Along the way, Van Halen hauled in more than 93-million-dollars.

There are rumours that three-quarters of Led Zeppelin, Jimmy Page, John Paul Jones and Jason Bonham, could be joining the Foo Fighters onstage in London at Wembley Stadium this weekend. Robert Plant won't perform because of his touring commitments with Alison Krauss.

The tease posted on their website says, "Let's just say that perhaps, just maybe, if you've already mastered 'One' on 'Guitar Hero 3,' there might be a pile of 'Tallica songs in your future.”

This begins with a voice that says something like "Gunter Glieben Glauten Globen." It doesn't mean anything. Producer Mutt Lange got tired of counting the band in with "1, 2, 3, 4...," so he started saying this. The band would sometimes make up stuff when asked what it means.

This song references Neil Young's "My My, Hey Hey."

The band had the music written for this, but were having trouble coming up with lyrics. One night, there was a bible study group in the studio and the next day, lead singer Joe Elliott found a bible open the hymn "Rock Of Ages." He started singing the phrase and Lange thought it would be perfect for the chorus. They used it as the title and wrote the rest of the lyrics from there.

It is ... Rock of Ages ... by Def Leppard!

Classic Rock Song Facts: (Weekdays at 1:20pm)

This is a tribute to the Blues, Jazz, and Gospel music U2 heard while touring America.

U2 recorded this at Sun Studios in Memphis with producer "Cowboy" Jack Clement, who worked with Sam Phillips at Sun Studios in the '50s before moving to Nashville and working with a variety of Country singers. When U2 asked him to work on this album, he had never even heard of them, but fortunately some of his friends were familiar with U2 and made it clear to Clement that working with them would be a good career move. By using Clement, U2 was able to recreate the famous Sun Studio's sound they were looking for.

This was used in the U2 documentary Rattle And Hum.

The “angel” is Billie Holiday, a Jazz singer who moved to Harlem as a teenager in 1928. She played a variety of nightclubs and became famous for her spectacular voice and ability to move her audience to tears. She dealt with racism, drug problems, and bad relationships for most of her life, and her sadness was often revealed in her songs. She died of cirrhosis of the liver in 1959 at age 44.

Billy Holiday's nickname was "Lady Day." That's where they got the line, "Lady Day got diamond eyes, she sees the truth behind the lies."

It is ... Angel of Harlem ... by U2 !

A man who robbed ``Lost'' star Josh Holloway and his wife at gunpoint in their Hawaii home has been sentenced to 13 to 30 years in prison for a three-week crime wave. Ruben Royce, who's 23, pleaded guilty to several charges in February.

After losing viewers, ``Lost'' found an audience for its season finale. It had the biggest audience of any show last week. Of course, except for a few reality shows, much of what was on the broadcast networks last week was reruns. So, the competition wasn't that fierce. The new ``Password'' with Regis Philbin also did well. CBS won the week, followed by Fox, ABC and NBC.

It reportedly features guest appearances by Ozzy Osbourne, who plays harmonica on a track he co-wrote with Cooper, and Slash, who plays guitar on the record as well. Conceptually, it's going to be pretty interesting. The album is based on a fictional serial killer named Spider, who wraps his victims in a silk web. Alice says, "Every song is sort of a letter to the police. They think they're investigating it from the outside, but he's actually woven them into the whole thing." Alice Cooper plays PG on September 23rd.

Classic Rock Song Facts: (Weekdays at 1:20pm)

Jimmy Page got the idea for the Samba beat from watching the World Cup soccer tournament in 1978. Argentina was the host country, and he heard a lot of Samba rhythms while watching.

This was the last Led Zeppelin song to chart.

This song was never performed live because the group didn't think the sound came off well.

Jimmy Page used regular distortion on this song, as well as an obscure effect called a called a blue box, which is a fuzz/octave pedal. This fuzzes (or distorts) the guitar, then drops it down two whole octaves.

James Taylor's bassist has used this effect.

Mexican rockers Mana recorded this for the Spanish language market edition of the Tribute album Encomium. It's the only officially-released Led Zeppelin cover song in Spanish

It is ... Fool In The Rain ... by Led Zeppelin !
