Entertainment News This Morning: (Weekdays at 10:20am)

Here's how things ended last night on “American Idol.”

Kristy Lee Cook knows how to make an exit. As is the custom, Kristy closed the show with her song from this week. It was Mariah Carey's ``Forever,'' which she sang sitting on a desk right in front of Simon Cowell. Kristy got a big hand as she sang to Simon: ``Those days of love our gone, our time is through.'' Nearly 36 million votes were cast this week.

Last night, David Letterman tried to hold up a picture of Uma Thurman wearing a see-through dress at a London benefit. But she grabbed it out of his hands. You can see just about everything in the picture. Thurman says the flashes from the paparazzi make the gown seem even more transparent than under normal light. She adds she didn't have time to do a ``flash test'' before wearing the dress on the red carpet. Letterman took the picture back, saying it was property of the show.

Barbra Streisand has put her money where her heart is. The 66-year-old singer-actress has donated $5 million to endow a research and education program on women's heart disease at Cedars-Sinai Medical Centre.

Rod Stewart has reportedly cut a deal to write his autobiography. Reports say the rocker-turned-crooner will get a seven-figure guarantee to share his life story. It's expected to be a tell-all book, detailing his rise to fame with The Jeff Beck Group and The Faces, solo super stardom and romances with a series of starlets.

Steve Winwood's new disc. “Nine Lives,” will be released April 29th. It's Winwood's first full-length studio album in five years and opens an important new chapter in Steve's extraordinary career. Classic Rock Song Facts: (Weekdays at 1:20pm)

George Martin produced this and arranged the orchestra. Martin produced most of The Beatles work, so this was McCartney's chance to work with him again.

McCartney played this at halftime of the 2005 Super Bowl. It was the only non-Beatles song in his set.

In 1973, this song took home the Grammy award for Best Arrangement Accompanying Vocals.

Guns N' Roses covered this in 1991 on Use Your Illusions.

Weird Al Yankovic wrote a parody of this song and called it "Chicken Pot Pie."

This was the title song for the 8th James Bond film. It was the first to star Roger Moore as Bond.

McCartney was asked to write a song for the movie for someone else to perform. He agreed to write it only if Wings could perform it.

It is ... Live and Let Die ... McCartney and Wings !

Entertainment News This Morning: (Weekdays at 10:20am)

The David's continue to stand out on “American Idol.” David Archuleta was as consistant as ever. And David Cook had tears in his eyes after he performed ``Always Be My Baby.'' Maybe it's because his brother with cancer was in the audience -- or because the judges loved it. Here's Randy Jackson ...

Two former ``American Idol'' contestants will be guest stars on the Fox show ``Bones.'' Ace Young from season five and Brandon Rogers from last year's season will appear on the May 12th episode. Young plays an aspiring singer who is murdered. Details on Rogers' role were not released.

The last of Walt Disney's so-called Nine Old Men has died. Ollie Johnston helped animate and direct such Disney classics as ``Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs,'' ``Pinocchio'' and ``Fantasia.'' Johnston died from natural causes Monday at a long-term care facility in Washington state. He was 95.

Priscilla has left the building. Priscilla Presley was voted off ``Dancing with the Stars'' last night.

Police are investigating the apparent suicide of a former drummer for Ted Nugent. 59-year-old Clifford Davies was found dead from a gunshot wound in his suburban Atlanta home Sunday. Reports indicate Davies was "extremely distraught" over money for medical bills. Davies played on the recording of Nugent's trademark track 'Cat Scratch Fever'.

Even after a career that spans decades and many live performances, Rush bass player and lead vocalist Geddy Lee say there are times that make him nervous about performing live. Lee revealed recently that he gets a little nervous when he knows the group’s live performance is being recorded for a live album. The new Rush live album, “Snakes and Arrows Live” is now available.

Classic Rock Song Facts: (Weekdays at 1:20pm)

Robert Plant dedicated this to his wife, Maureen.

This became a showcase for John Paul Jones' keyboard work during live shows.

In 2001, Fred Durst from Limp Bizkit and Was Scantlin from Puddle Of Mudd performed this at the MTV Europe Music Awards.

Jimmy Page and Robert Plant used a mellower version of this as either an opening number or encore for most of their shows from 1995 through 1998.

Jimmy Page sang background. You can hear him sing with Plant during the line, "Little drops of rain."

The lyrics, "If the sun refuse to shine" and "When mountains crumble to the sea" came from a Jimi Hendrix song called "If 6 Was 9."

It is ... Thank You ... Led Zeppelin !

April 15th - Canada's Worst Driver (Full) Print E-mail

The producers of the TV show, "Canada Worst Driver," are coming to Prince George in May.

Canada's Worst Driver delves into why some drivers are so disastrous behind the wheel - both in mechanics and mindset - and examines the critical science of road safety. With expert guidance and coaching to help them improve, the worst drivers in Canada will rejoin our highways as better drivers and with fewer liabilities.

I had a chance to chat with Guy O'Sullivan, Executive Producer of “Canada's Worst Driver, ” about what in essence it's a public safety program for Canadians everywhere!

So ... where are Canada's Worst Drivers found ...

The show is looking for people to nominate others, or step forward themselves. How can someone stand out in the heavy traffic of nominations?

In searching for Canada's Worst Driver ... has the production crew ever been involved in an accident?

Nominate yourself, or someone you think could be "Canada's Worst Driver!"

Entertainment News This Morning: (Weekdays at 10:20am)

It's probably going to be more emotional than usual on ``American Idol'' tonight and tomorrow night. David Cook's brother and his brother's wife have come from Indiana to be in the audience. Adam Cook has brain cancer which has spread to his spine. He's going through chemotherapy. His friends arranged for a chartered medical jet because doctors prohibited him from taking a commercial flight.

Priscilla Presley's rumba was a bumma -- at least to the judges on ``Dancing with the Stars.'' Presley is usually one of the judges' favourites. But last night she received the lowest scores. She admits she wasn't at her best and missed one of the turns during her routine. The highest scorer was Kristi Yamaguchi, again. For a second week she failed to get a perfect score of 30 by just a single point. Tonight, another celeb gets bounced off the show.

What's more important -- the inauguration of a new president or the announcement of the year's Oscar nominees? A spokeswoman for the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences says both are important in their own way. Because the inauguration is Tuesday, January 20th, the academy is delaying its nominations to two days later, to Thursday, January 22nd.

The Drive Nooner - Random Rock News: (Weekdays at 12:10pm)

Ozzy Osbourne has drawn upon the sinister power of OzzFest to create the biggest, meanest, loudest rock festival you can imagine, The Monsters Of Rock. This one-day celebration of the heaviest music in the universe is landing in Calgary's McMahon Stadium on Saturday July 26th. Judas Priest and many more masters of metal will be on the bill. Tickets go on sale this Friday through Ticketmaster.

Asia have no qualms about showing their audience how young they used to be. The band has been using their old videos, like ``Heat of the Moment'' and ``Only Time Will Tell,'' in their stage show. Guitarist Steve Howe says they tell an important part of their story. What about reminding people about how they used to look?

The four original members of Asia are releasing a new album today called ``Phoenix.''

Smashing Pumpkins will be inducted into Hollywood's RockWalk. Singer Billy Corgan and drummer Jimmy Chamberlin will attend the ceremony, which will be held April 23rd.

Classic Rock Song Facts: (Weekdays at 1:20pm)

Salsa legend Tito Puente wrote this song and recorded it in the early '50s. While Puente was very popular in the Latin community, Santana's cover became a hit and helped introduce Puente to a wider audience. On Santana's version of the song, everything, including the guitar wails and keyboards, follow the original music.

The voice in the beginning says "Sabor," which is Spanish for "Flavor."

The translation of the lyrics (not literal): "Hey you, come here, come and feel my rhythm."

A "Mulata" is a woman ("Mulato" being a male) of Caucasian European and Negro African descent.

Gregg Rolie, who sang on many of Santana's early hits, took the lead vocals on this song. Rolie was a founding member and keyboard player for Santana; he joined Journey in 1973.

The original version by Tito Puente was used in a commercial television advertisement campaign for Nissan.

It is ... Oye Como Va ... Santana !
