May 18th- LONG weekend fun! Print E-mail

Hey there!

Thanks once again for taking Prince George's classic rock with you wherever you went this weekend.

It was a fun weekend (as to be expected since it's may long, and it's not even totally over yet!)

First of all, happy 47th birthday going out to Darwin, was his day Sunday. He also happened to be the caller for our instant request.
take a listen.

Congrats to Peter and Fran, they we're listening this weekend and picked up some free gas from our friends at Chevron. On top of the $50 certificate, they also received 5000 save on more points. We'll get back to the gas subject in a sec.

This is also a classic rock FREE dvd weekend on the Drive.

"The Doors Classic album series" available on dvd, and free to anyone who gave us a call when they heard a doors track.

Veronica and Mike were winners on my show Saturday, and then Sylvia was the lucky caller Sunday... we were quite happy to get some sunshine  at the same moment too.

I also had a blast this weekend talking about my "crow" problem and getting some advice from you, the listener, plus I told the tale of what I like to call, "Mr. Creepio" and got your comments, let's just say this has t be the strangest thing I've seen in a while.. and last but DEFINATELY NOT least, talked abous gas prices affecting summer plans... those 3 clips are available on my website, I'll put them up sometime during my sunday afternoon.

alrighty, I'm out, and I'll see you tomorrow morning!

Cheerio!

May 10th- Name that meat! Print E-mail

This is a free DVD weekend on the Drive, up for grabs... "In search of paridise" from Meatloaf, career retro and a concert, pretty sweet.

Being the opportunist that I am, I decided we should play "name that meat" for the DVD.

Pretty simple, I play a meatloaf tune, you identify it, you win.

I've got another chance to name that meat coming up tomorrow, keep it tuned to Prince George's Classic Rock, 99.3 the Drive!

A fitting theme with the golf courses opening up. (Aspen Grove tomorrow, get the clubs out baby)

First of all, as always, thanks for tuning in Prince George's Classic Rock today, the best friggin station in town.  :)

I've been in for mid-days this week, having a blasty blast..... thanks for all the calls!

Today on the show, I gave away tickets for Judas Priest and Testament, July 24th at GM Place, Vandot.
Congrats to Joe Yandoe for being the first to call in and correctly name the Judas Priest song I was playing, which was  "freewheel burning."  Enjoy the show man!

I continued the Classic Rock challenge today , this week's topic is "song's that rock"
Congrats to  Dawn Trusty for correctly identifying today's song clip as Buffulo Springfield- Rock n roll women.
She beats the box office and wins tickets for the Beach Boys, Sept. 24, CN Centre.
One mroe chance to do that coming up tomorrow.

Don't you just LOVE mother's day? Actually what I really like is all the bad mother's day stories we've been getting for our contest.

I was feeling extra good today (we are almost on weekend time) so I grabbed 2 callers, and 2 stories, which means 2 more entries for the grand prize mother's day draw.

First up, Willy's story.. let's just say it's a good thing lunch was over at this point..

Collette was next to shar her story.. I felt kind of bad for laughing, but it was funny because it's probably something that happens to every mother at some point!

Thanks for listening today, I'll see you tomorrow as we kick off the weekend!
