April 7- Indoor soccer and weekend stuff Print E-mail

It was a fun weekend, even though Saturday was sad as I was forced to talk about the falling of the Canucks this year.. But I'll get back to that in a second.

First of all, the pro-indoor soccer games at the CN centre this weekend were a great success. Both games were action packed and entertaining, and PGFC won the second match! Good on them.

Here's an interview I did with Eric Munoz, defensemen on the Edmonton Driller. (this was before the games)

I was also giving away copies of R.E.M.'s latest disc, Accelerate.
Congrats to all the winners who were up to date on their knowledge of the band... here's a clip.

For more show clips from this weekend, including some Canucks clips, and who we should be rooting for now that Van is out, go to MY WEBSITE ...

Speaking of Vancouver, we may have very well witnessed the last game for Trevor Linden on Saturday night. It was incredibly moving when the fans gave him a standing O at the beginning of the 3rd, as well as when CBC names him the 1st star of the game, and the Calgary Flames all shook his hand. I'm not sure if this will actualy be his last game, but if it was, the sendoff was pretty sweet... now let's just retire the #.

I found some classic Trev clips on you tube, take a trip down memory lane.. cut and paste the links.

March 30th.. Canucks game! Print E-mail

It's about time!

For those of you who watched tonight's Canucks game, or listened to it on 99.3 the Drive, it's hard not to smile.

Albeit it's only one game and they need to keep winning to make the playoffs, it was still nice to see the Canucks playing as a team once again.. it was great to see them finishing their checks, rushing to get to the puck first, getting shots away, and finally getting the goals.

At least for now, a HUGE wieght has been lifted off the shoulders of Vancouver, and with 3 HOME games remaining, hopefully they can keep this up.

On top of that, the crowd at GM Place was amazing! Everything a Canadian city should be with this much on the line.... the playoff's start right now, as far as I'm concerned. GO CANUCKS.

p.s. My car flags up, is yours?

Also, I found this post on the Canucks messageboard... one fan has said that if the Canucks do in fact make the playoffs, he will eat his hat and post it on you tube.. makes me smile even more, go canucks!
here's the link to the post... cut n paste.

March 21- Aircare calls Print E-mail

I took a few calls today on aircare for cars in Prince George... should it become a mandatory thing for cleaner air in the future?
Or is the cost of fixing up all the cars just too great.

I was a little surprised with the answers, I thought there would be more people against it....

I've got the clip up on my site, check it out.

by the way, if it means cleaner air for our kids and their kids, I'm all for it.

Actually had a lot of fun, even though we took some wierd pics.

I'll try to get them up over the next little while, and hey, feel free to send me your Mr. PG pics!

March 16/08 - Aircare Print E-mail

I don't know how I could have gone this long without knowing this fact, but I had no idea that aircare for vehicles was only a "lower mainland" thing, and that it's not required here in PG.

 This took me by surprise...

We live in a city with air quality warnings, and even though bringing in mandatory aircare and inspections for cars would be a widely un-popular decision.... when you think about it, it might be a small price to pay to make the air a little cleaner for our kids, and their kids, etc.

Just some food for thought.

any comments on that? e-mail me:
